Dobie Williams has served the district as the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Chief Financial Officer since August 2005.  Mr. Williams began his school business career in 2002 with the Colorado Independent School District where he served in a similar capacity as the Business Manager and Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to making the transition to school finance, Mr. Williams owned and operated a family business in Colorado City that he took over after his father passed away in 1995.  Mr. Williams also spent 10 years in the financial industry working for a savings and loan, a bank and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).  While in the finance industry he served in various capacities including real estate development officer, commercial and real estate loan officer and loan department manager as well as serving as a real estate specialist and an environmental coordinator for the FDIC.

Mr. Williams received a BBA in Finance from Angelo State University in 1984.  He is a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials and has received the Certified Texas School Business Official (CTSBO) designation.  He is married to Michele and has two daughters, Bradee and Kenadee, who both attend Clyde CISD.  In his leisure time Mr. Williams enjoys spending time with his family, serving his church, playing golf and restoring old cars and trucks.

Mr. Williams believes that educating children, both spiritually and intellectually, so that they can become productive and responsible citizens is not only the key to their success; it is the single most important thing we can do as adults to impact the future of our world.  He believes that Eleanor Roosevelt says it simplest and best:  “It is today we must create the world of the future.”
